In July 1990, 11 teenagers (eight boys and three girls) from the Rio de Janeiro favela of Acari went to spend a weekend on a farm in Mage, on the periphery of the Rio metropolitan area. The young people never returned. Their mothers got together to discover the circumstances of the disappearances and found evidence that the young people had been kidnapped and murdered by the police. Inspired by the example of the "Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo"(Argentine women whose children had disappeared between 1976 and 1983, when a military regime ruled that country) the mothers of the disappeared of Acari began to march around the downtown Rio neighborhood of Cinelandia every Monday afternoon. In their hands, they held photos of their children. The women became known as the Maes de Acari (Mothers of Acari). (Katheryn Gallant, Brazzil)

It is important to keep remembering things like that and to tell people about it. It shouldn't be forgotten even if it hurts.
Great work :)

we get that all the time... from the police... from the military... from the communists... from the muslims... it's a hell hole of a country but the government's pretending nothing like that ever happens.

i hope daniel burnham doesn't turn in his grave.

true that the world is bad, but from the Muslim? wat? I'm not Muslim but you do not take the religion on top of these stuff. If right now I say Christian is the mastermind of all war crimes, that's the truth but I know I can take religion in.

Everyone knows it i hope, but i dare to say it loud and clary - it "must" be said.

These Bastards were not Police Officers - they were Criminals.
The didn't deserve the Uniform and Name of a Police Officer.

Sure, if it's proofed then they WERE in the Police of that time - but calling them truly Police Officers, now that their Crimes are proofed, it would be an Insult to any, proper Police Officer on this World.

I can't help it, i don't believe in a Place called Hell - but i hope this Murderers will someday pay for their Crimes and share the Agony and Doom they granted their Victims - Three or five Times higher.

Really makes you think. What do freedom and the assurance of seeing your loved ones really mean to an individual. To repeat something that has probably been said time and again: Whoever does not know history is doomed to repeat it.

Well, Hallelujah, your finally getting what you really wanted: a real fight.
