Did he start the war in Afghanistan? No. He inherited this war, and has to do as he see's fit to rectify the situation, troop withdrawals from Iraq is a healthy move, because the country can begin to stabilize around it's own government and avoid links to america which draws it no sympathy in the arab world. Afghanistan is still no peaceful country, so avoiding the media catchphrase of terrorism, it needs more work to create stability. Put in the same position with the same resources, would any of you critics do a better job? No. Because the route taken is a logical strategic one, to the betterment of the area.
