They actually closed my school down for a week because of the swine flu (I believe it was an overreaction). I have relatives who caught the swine flu, bit they live a thousand miles from me and only one of them died, but that really was only because her immune system was almost non - existant, so, yeah, it was an overraction in America

amazing how the media is freaking out over a virus that isnt even as bad as the normal flu. oh, how im so much smarter than the media at the age of 13.

On a an topical comedy programme, they showed an american news clip explaining that Barack Obama had declared the virus a national emergency.
After that, the presenter said that 'he only wanted to protect American kids. British kids didn't give a s***.'
Then you saw a clip and it was a British reporter that was outside a school, and behind him there were children wearing their grandparents' gas masks and holding their middle fingers up to the camera.
I am proud of my country and our ability to laugh in the face of... anything.
