Ok. So you've focused on a few issues and judged the two candidates the same. I can see where you're coming from but I think you're being too selective in finding similarities.

I remember back in the 2000 election when people were saying Bush jr and Gore were essentially the same. Do you really think Gore (even for one term) could have fucked things up as bad as Bush jr has? Do you think Gore would have invaded Iraq under false pretences, and under-prepared?

There are differences between these two candidates. From what I've seen (here in Australia) McCain has mostly negative attack ads, while Obama's are positive and forward-looking.

foreign US policy is not tied to either democrats or republicans...

Even if guys in the white house will surely pressure the president so much it may not change the US politics that much whoever is elected, having Obama elected would sure be a strong symbol of progress of racial tolerance.

And it's already a lot.
