I think the Nazi symbol is a bit too much. The cartoon is about police, not antisemitic people or racists. I have nothing to do with news story. A police symbol or a label "The Police" would have been a lot better. Targeting the poor is NOT the same as racism.

i think the nazi symbol is fine.the police keeps and uses nazi tactics mostly against the poor who dont have the means to buy her out!and u should know that any factor that divides people into kategories, IS RACISM. social racism. and deep down, religion has nothing to do with racism. not then and not now.

But as a cartoon, the swastika doesn't do it's job at conveying the artist's intents to relate to a police activity. Usually Latuff's cartoons are understandable without the comments below. I think this one is a miss, mostly because of the Nazi symbol. When you talk about "social racism", the more correct term is "classism" ([link]). Both racism and classism are forms of discrimination, and I think the wrong one was presented here.

calling oneself an "insecticide" after killing "people" is horrible because it is degrading those dead from their humanity and taking them as bare animals... hence your illustration fits perfectly; Nazism also saw all people other than Aryans as "insects" which must be killed to have a "clean and perfect" society...

that and anti-semitism is bigotry, not racism!
